Global Entrepreneurship Week
Updated: Feb 8
At the start of 2020 there were 3.5 million sole proprietorships and 5.9 million small businesses in the UK. Though when we think of entrepreneurs, people like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Richard Branson come to mind rather than these small business owners who are working just as hard to get their companies off the ground. The UKs entrepreneurial market is teaming with Individuals and partnerships who have found a niche product or service, or simply a way to do business better than the competitor. These dedicated individuals contain the same passion and drive as the world’s most prominent business-people and we support and treat each one individually here at Serenity Law.
It’s in this entrepreneurial spirit that we celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), from 16-22nd November 2020. “Global Entrepreneurship Week inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.”
At Serenity Law we believe every individual should have access and support to realise their dream of becoming an entrepreneur. The first steps can be daunting and confusing to those who have come from an established workforce. Suddenly you are stepping into unchartered territory, looking after employee contracts, company registration and GDPR. However, as a general rule, the first steps to creating a business usually include the following considerations:
· What type of business are you going to be; Sole Trader, Partnership or Limited Company?
· Will you need to raise funds?
· Will you employ people?
· Do you need licenses and permits for your business?
· Do you need to rent business premises?
· Will you be corresponding with clients via email newsletters, if so you need to brush up on the new GDPR regulations
Here at Serenity Law, we offer fixed-fee start-up packages to create your initial legal documents. If you would like more information and advice book in for a free 15 minute consultation or give us a call today on 0800 019 7773.
